Naya Somanya is a multifaceted performer who began her acting journey in 2016 in Philadelphia, honing her craft in esteemed studios such as HB Studio and Ivana Chubbuck Studio. Committed to continuous growth, she expanded her artistic horizons at Identity School of Acting. In the midst of nurturing the early stages of her career, she also pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing at Rutgers University.
More recently, Naya has evolved into an advanced pole dance and fitness performer and coach. In 2022, she competed in the Pole Sport Organization Competition in the Level 4 Championship category. She also went on to launch her own virtual pole fitness studio, Pole Bait, in 2023.
To date, Naya has added several short films, Trestle (2023), and independent series, Delayed Gratification (2016), to her resume. While studying at the award-winning UK based drama school, Identity School of Acting, she harnessed several techniques in scene study, voice, movement, viewpoints, auditioning, and more.
All in all, Naya Somanya is an emerging and versatile talent with a passion for impactful storytelling.
Set in 1992, in Freetown, Sierra Leone; “Remember 92” introduces us to a family living in Willberforce; a military barracks during the civil war known for Blood Diamonds in Sierra Leone.
